What is brushed DC water pump and brushless DC water pump?

The general composition of the water pump is the driving part + the pump body. There are two interfaces on the pump body, one in and one out. The brushless DC motor type water pump consists of a brushless DC motor and an impeller. The motor shaft is connected with the impeller, and there is a gap between the stator and the rotor of the water pump. After a while, water can seep into the motor, increasing the likelihood of the motor catching fire. Advantages: The brushless DC motor is a standard type, mass-produced by professional manufacturers, with relatively low cost and high efficiency.

When a brushed DC pump is running, the coil and commutator rotate, but the magnetic and carbon brushes do not. The alternating direction of the coil current is accomplished by the commutator and brushes rotated by the motor. When the motor rotates the carbon brushes, wear occurs. After a certain period of time, the wear gap of the carbon brushes becomes larger, and the noise also increases. After hundreds of hours of continuous operation, the carbon brushes can no longer play the role of commutation. Advantages: low price.


The brushless DC water pump adopts electronic commutation elements, and the commutation does not require the use of carbon brushes. It adopts durable high-performance ceramic shafts and ceramic sleeves. The sleeve is integrally formed with the magnet by injection molding to prevent wear. The service life of the pump is significantly increased. The stator and rotor parts of the magnetically insulated water pump are fully insulated, the stator and plate parts are wrapped with epoxy resin, 100% waterproof, the rotor part uses permanent magnets, and the pump body is made of environmentally friendly materials. Low noise, small size, stable performance. Various required parameters can be set through the stator winding, and the working voltage range is wide.

Advantages: long life, low noise below 35dB, can be used for hot water circulation. The stator and motor plates are epoxy-filled and insulated from the rotor for excellent water resistance and operation in water.
