What is the difference between helical gears and spur gears of micro geared motors?

There are different kinds of gears in the miniature geared motor, and different gears have different processing methods. Today, we introduce to you the processing methods of helical gears and spur gears in the miniature geared motor

1. Spur gear processing method. The inner straight teeth on the plastic spur gear mold insert can be wire cut for good surface accuracy and large dimensional accuracy. The wire diameter of wire cutting decreases with the reduction of the module number, and at present, the minimum wire diameter used in the industry is 0.03mm.
The outer straight teeth are the counterpart of the spur gear inner ring and the mold insert. Wire cutting and hobbing are the two processing techniques for mold inserts. Wire cutting has to be done without head machining, and it has to be clamped twice. Hobbing can be done in one clamping and one machining with higher accuracy.

2. Helical gear processing technique: For plastic helical gear, the matching mold insert has internal helical teeth; if the helical gear's angle is small and its accuracy is low, line cutting can be used. Given the size and level of precision of the angle, electrode discharge processing is required. Additionally, when discharging, the Z-axis rotating discharge machine is utilized. Discharge machining's face precision and dimensional accuracy are inferior to wire cutting's. Similar to how the mold insert of the helical outer tooth corresponds to the inner ring of the helical gear, wire cutting can be used to make parts with low precision and small angles. Hobbing is used to manufacture helical gears with enormous slopes and great precision, and the The lower the hobbing cutter's module number. It should be noted that the die insert material should be pre-hardened and the material hardness should be lower than 40HRC when the helical gear die insert is processed by hobbing.
