What is the difference between peristaltic pump and diaphragm pump?

The peristaltic pump consists of three parts: driver, pump head and hose. The fluid is isolated in the pump pipe, the fluid can be quickly replaced in the pump pipe, the fluid can go the wrong way, can run dry, and the low maintenance cost constitutes the main competitive advantage of the peristaltic pump. A peristaltic pump is like squeezing a fluid-filled hose with a finger clip, moving the inner fluid forward as the finger slides forward. The peristaltic pump is also the principle that the roller only replaces the fingers. The fluid is pumped by alternately squeezing and releasing the pump's elastic delivery hose. Just like squeezing a hose with two fingers clips, as the fingers move, a negative pressure forms in the tube, and the liquid flows accordingly. A pump tube between two rollers forms a "pillow" shaped fluid. The volume of the pillow " depends on the inner diameter of the pump tube and the geometric characteristics of the rotor. The flow rate depends on the product of the rotation speed of the pump head, the size of the "pillow" and the number of the "pillow" produced by each turn of the rotor. The size of the pillow is generally constant (except when pumping particularly sticky fluids). Comparing the pump with the same rotor diameter, the pump with a larger "pillow" volume delivers a larger fluid volume for each turn, but also produces a larger pulsatility. This is similar to the case of membrane valves. Moreover, the small "pillow" formed quickly and continuously makes the fluid flow more smoothly. This is similar to the gear pump. In the process of pumping materials, the peristaltic wheel in the pump body constantly rolls forward, generating a compression wave that pushes the material in the pipeline forward. The peristaltic pump is suitable for conveying high viscosity, easy curing or volatile liquid, and has the advantages of accurate flow rate and no damage to the conveying materials.
The advantage of a peristaltic pump is that a pollution-free, The fluid only touches the pump tube, Do not contact with the pump body; High precision, repeatability precision, High stability and accuracy; Low-shear force, Is the delivery of a shear-sensitive, An ideal tool for strong, erosive fluids; Good sealing ability, With good self-priability, Can be idling, Can prevent the reflux; Simple maintenance, No valves and seals; With two-way equal flow transmission capacity; No damage to any part of the pump without liquid air transfer; Can produce up to 98% vacuum degree; No valves, mechanical seals, and packing seals, There are no such factors that produce leakage and maintenance; Can easily transport solid, liquid or gas-liquid mixed phase fluid, The solid diameter contained in the fluid is allowed to reach 40% of the inner diameter of the tubular components; Can transport a variety of grinding, corrosion, oxygen sensitive characteristics of materials and a variety of food; Only hose are parts to be replaced, The replacement operation is extremely simple; Except for the flexible hose, The delivered product is not in contact with any parts. Its limitation is the pressure limitation, with a flexible pipe, will make the pressure is limited, followed by the pump will produce a pulse flow.
Micro diaphragm pump refers to the micro vacuum pump, refers to have one in one exhaust nozzle, exhaust nozzle each, through the mechanical device to make the pump diaphragm do reciprocating movement, and in the inlet can continue to form vacuum or negative pressure, the exhaust nozzle form a micro positive pressure; the working medium is mainly gas, a small instrument. The working mode is the circular movement of the motor, through the mechanical device to make the diaphragm inside the pump do reciprocating movement, so as to compress and stretch the air in the pump chamber to form negative pressure, the pressure difference between the pumping port and the external atmospheric pressure, under the action of the pressure difference, the gas is inhaled into the pump chamber, and then discharged from the exhaust port. During the pumping process, the diaphragm constantly moves back and forth, creating an inhalation and discharge effect. Diaphragm pump is suitable for conveying corrosive, high viscosity, high temperature, volatile, flammable, explosive media, with the advantages of self-priming function and no leakage.
The advantage of diaphragm pump is easy to move and install, with self-priming function, internal pressure automatic switch control protection pump, medium temperature 60℃, low noise, corrosion resistance, high pressure. Allow the dry operation. The internal pressure switch to protect the pump from damage, and the internal overflow valve controls the normal operation of the pump. Easy to remove and disassemble. Use safe and low voltage to ensure personal safety. Use of micro diaphragm pump: suitable for household tap water pressurization, car washing, seawater desalination on ships. It is suitable for reverse osmosis pure water machine, water treatment equipment, filter, spray device, chemical metering liquid addition and health, environmental protection, printing and other industries.
Both peristaltic pumps and diaphragm pumps belong to the pump class, but their working principle and structure are different. The following are the differences:
1. Working principle: the peristaltic pump is pumped liquid through the compression hose, the pump body will not contact the transported liquid. The diaphragm pump produces a pumping effect by moving the diaphragm, and the diaphragm is in contact with the delivered liquid.
2. Different structure: the peristaltic pump consists of the drive device, the compression part and the pump head, in which the compression part is composed of the compression wheel and the hose. The diaphragm pump is composed of the drive device, the diaphragm and the pump body, in which the diaphragm is the moving part inside the pump body.
3. Nature of conveying liquid: the peristaltic pump is suitable for conveying viscous, containing solid particles or high viscosity liquid, such as sewage, paint, sludge, etc. The diaphragm pump is more suitable for conveying corrosive liquid, high purity liquid, volatile liquid, etc.
4. Durability: because the compression part of the peristaltic pump is the hose, the durability of the hose is poor, and it needs to be replaced frequently, while the diaphragm of the diaphragm pump is relatively durable, and the service life is longer.
