How To Disassemble The DC Motor?
Leave a message
We must disassemble the DC motor when it is broken or when it has to be cleaned frequently. There is a set standard procedure that must be followed during disassembly. The connection between the end cover and the base, the brush holder, etc. should be clearly noted to make assembly easier before removing the DC motor. Here is a quick overview of the stages involved in disassembling a DC motor.

1. Take off the motor junction box's connecting wires.
2. Take out the ventilation window bolts from the end cover (rear end cover) of the commutator, open it, remove the brush from the brush holder, and take out the connecting wire that is attached to the brush rod.
3. Take away the bearing's outer cover and the bolts holding the commutator end cover and bearing cover on.

4. Take off the commutator's end cover. To avoid the end cover shattering when it falls, place a soft material underneath it before disassembling. Then, using a copper rod as a hammer, beat the end cover's surrounding edge uniformly.
5. Be cautious not to damage the armature winding, commutator, or magnetic pole winding and use thick paper or tape to protect them by removing the bolts from the shaft extension end cover (front end cover). The commutator is wrapped in fabric and secured with rope.
6. Unbolt the front end cap's bearing cap and remove the bearing outer cap.

7. Place the armature on the board or frame made of wood, together with the front end cover, and cover it with paper or fabric.
