What Are The Factors That Affect The Commutation Of The Gear Motor?

Speed reducer motor application area is wide, speed reducer motor in the long-term use of the process sometimes appear commutation failure, resulting in speed reducer motor commutation failure of a number of factors, the main factors are the following aspects

1. Electromagnetic factors

Delayed commutation occurs when the commutation element of the gear motor is present in both the reactance potential and the commutation potential, and the sum of these two potentials is often greater than zero. During commutation, the commutation current is not zero, and electromagnetic energy is stored in the commutation element as the rear brushes separate along one commutation piece and turn toward another adjacent commutation piece. When the brush of the gear motor separates from the previous commutator, the commutation circuit closes quickly and sparks are generated as the electromagnetic energy in the commutation element is released when it breaks through the air.

2. Mechanical factors

There are many mechanical factors, such as: the flatness and roughness of the exterior of the three-dimensional commutator, and the perpendicularity of the exterior of the commutator to the motor shaft during disassembly. The brush contact surfaces are not well grounded due to insulation depressions between commutator tabs or recessed commutator tabs, only a portion of the brushes touch the commutator surface, varying spring pressures on the brushes, being too loose or too tight in the brush box, and uneven distances between each brush rod, and a few brushes shorting commutation elements that are not on the geometric local line.

3. Electrochemical factors

The commutator surface of the gear motor will have a thin layer of brown cuprous oxide film in normal operation. The existence of the sub-copper oxide film is a manifestation of the normal operation of the gear motor. The surface of the film not only adsorbs moisture, oxygen and graphite powder, but also plays an important lubricating function.

The above is the cause of commutation failure of the geared motor, more information about the welcome to consult us at any time!
