What Is The Difference Between The Driving Methods Of Brushless DC Motors And Brushed DC Motors?

Brushless DC motors (BLDC) generate driving force to the rotor by magnetic force. In this case, permanent magnets are fixed to the rotor and the polarity is changed by an external control circuit to drive the rotor when the inductor monitors the position of the permanent magnets relative to the axis of electromagnetic induction. As a result, brushless DC motors have the advantages of high efficiency, high reliability, and long life.

Brush DC motors (Brush DC) require brushes (bristles) in contact with the polarity to generate drive to the rotor. The brushes make contact with the polarity on the rotor, and the motor speed is controlled by the constant contact and disconnection of the brushes from the polarity. Therefore, brushed DC motors have the advantages of being low-cost and simple to use.
