What are the advantages of outer rotor motor?

An external rotor motor is a motor with the rotor (rotating part) located outside of the stator (stationary part), which has the following advantages:
1. High torque: Due to its larger diameter and increased leverage, an external rotor motor can provide higher torque compared to an internal rotor motor of the same size.

2. Heat dissipation: Since the rotor is located on the outside, the stator can be made larger, providing more surface area for heat dissipation. This can lead to better thermal management and higher efficiency.
3. Smaller size: Due to its higher torque density, an external rotor motor can be smaller in size and still provide the same power output as an internal rotor motor. This is advantageous in product applications where space is limited.

4. Reduced Snagging: Snagging is a phenomenon where the motor will experience uneven motion due to the interaction between the magnetic fields of the rotor and stator. Outrunner motors usually have fewer slotting problems, resulting in smoother operation.
5. Low noise: The large diameter of the outer rotor can help reduce noise by lowering the rotor's rotation speed and reducing the vibration of the motor.
