What should I do if the motor is flooded?

Cleaning the geared motor is essential in daily work. When cleaning the geared motor, it should be wiped with a dry cloth. If it is wiped with a damp cloth, water impurities can easily enter the motor, causing machine failure or even short circuit. Severe flooding can cause the machine to burn out. What should I do if the engine is flooded?

1. Drain the water first to remove dirt and grime from the surface, but do not roll the motor shaft and be careful not to damage the hard surface of the gear teeth.

gear motor2. Disassemble the casing of the hard tooth surface reducer, fix the mud and water stains in the casing, rotor and inner cavity of the collector ring, check whether the winding is desoldered, and whether the brush is corroded in the brush holder. Dead, whether the pressure of the brush is normal, whether the surface of the brush and the slip ring are close to each other, if any fault is found, it should be eliminated.

3. Dry the gears, shafts, etc. It can be cooked in a light bulb to evaporate the water, or it can be left to dry naturally in a ventilated place. However, do not use current heating or open flame baking to prevent short circuit or damage to the insulating layer. After drying, check the insulation of each winding with a megohmmeter or a multimeter. If the insulation is found to be defective, it must be taken to a repair shop.

4. Install the body and refuel for trial operation. Can be applied if there is no doubt about the performance of the test.

If the motor enters the water, it should be dealt with in time. The water in the reducer can usually be repaired and inspected by following these four steps.
