What Tests Need To Be Done Before The Micro Motor Works?

The micromotor needs to be checked to make sure it operates smoothly and safely before being turned on and put to use. The components of the test motor are described below:

1. Winding insulation resistance

Excitation windings, commutation pole windings, compensation windings, and armature windings are all examples of windings. According to regulations, the insulating resistance must be at least 0.5MW. It is important to gauge the metal binding wire's and the armature winding's insulation resistance to the shaft for the exciter.

2. The winding's DC resistance

To determine whether each weld has a defect, such as virtual welding or open welding, as well as whether the winding has a short circuit or disconnection between turns, the DC resistance of the winding is measured.

(1) A single-arm bridge can be used to test the excitation winding's significant DC resistance. A DC resistance tester is used to measure the low DC resistance of the series excitation magnetic winding, commutation pole winding, and compensation winding.

(2) The measurement position for windings with low DC resistance must be noted on the report following the measurement;

(3) To compare, the measured value should be changed to the same temperature (the difference should not be greater than 2%).

(4) The AC impedance of the armature winding and each magnetic pole winding can be monitored to make a determination when it is suspected that there is a short circuit between turns and the DC resistance has no visible response.

3. The DC resistance between the armature winding sheets should be measured.

The measurement's goal is to determine whether there are any flaws, such as metallic short circuits between the commutator segments, and whether the welding between the armature winding and the commutator segment is open welding or virtual welding. A high-sensitivity, multiple-digit double-arm bridge or a step-down approach can be used for the measurement. Less than 10% of the minimal value should separate them from one another.
