The 3115 brushless motor produced by VSD, model 3115 motor 900KV, is an outer rotor motor with excellent performance and stable structure, optimized for FPV drone applications.
This motor is built on a φ31mm×15mm iron core structure, with multiple advantages of lightweight, high efficiency and low loss. The 12N/14P electromagnetic structure combined with precision winding technology can provide stable power output and good linear response, suitable for a variety of flight missions.

VSD 3115 motor design

We used VSD 3115 motors (900KV) with three typical propellers: GF1050, HQ9x4.5, and HQ10x5. We conducted actual tests under 6S power supply and 80A ESC, and found the performance differences under different blade combinations.
1. GF1050: Maximum thrust, suitable for long-duration flight
When the VSD 3115 motor is paired with the GF1050 propeller, it outputs 3727g thrust at full throttle, with a current of 68.9A, a power of 1402.8W, and a speed of 14022rpm. The efficiency of this combination is as high as 6.41 g/W at 30% throttle, which is the most efficient of the three combinations.
It is suitable for platforms that require longer endurance and stable thrust, such as aerial photography multi-rotors and electric gliders.
2. HQ9x4.5: Lowest current, suitable for medium load and flexible flight
When paired with HQ9x4.5, the 3115 motor generates 2780g thrust at 100% throttle, 50.4A current, 1096.8W power, and 13052rpm speed. At low throttle, the efficiency can reach 5.85 g/W, the overall energy consumption is low, and the operating temperature is also the lowest, only 86°C.
Suitable for applications that require control sensitivity, such as FPV racing and training drones.
3. HQ10x5: The most complete power release, suitable for high thrust scenarios
HQ10x5 provides a load close to the peak value for the 3115 motor, with a measured thrust of 3503g, a current of up to 72.3A, a power of 1701.3W, and a speed of 12786rpm. This combination can release the maximum performance of the motor, but the temperature rises quickly, with the test temperature reaching 107℃.
Suitable for scenarios that require large thrust, such as wind-resistant platforms and light-load transport drones.
