What factors affect the loss of wheel motors?

Hub motors inevitably produce losses during operation. What factors affect the losses of hub motors? Today to explain to you

A, iron consumption
Iron consumption is the loss of motor core and end iron parts. Mainly divided into "hysteresis loss" and "eddy current loss" two.
1、Hysteresis loss
The magnetic flux in the transformer is active on the core, the core has a magnetic resistance to the magnetic flux, just like the conductor to the current and resistance, will also generate heat, so the loss we call "hysteresis loss". In order to reduce the impact of hysteresis loss and reduce the associated energy loss, thus using ferromagnetic substances with low coercivity and low hysteresis loss, such as Permalloy.
2、Eddy current loss
Because the core itself is also a conductor, an electric potential is induced in the plane perpendicular to the magnetic lines of force, and this potential forms a closed loop in the core section and generates a current called "eddy current". This "eddy current" makes the transformer losses increase, and make the transformer core heating transformer temperature increase. General eddy current loss is much larger than the hysteresis loss.

B, copper consumption
There are two types of copper loss, the stator winding power loss and rotor winding power loss. Due to the existence of resistance in the stator and rotor windings, the current through the electrical energy loss, called copper consumption. The size of the copper consumption is proportional to the square of the current through the hub motor.
C, the mechanical loss
Mechanical losses are quite complex, no matter what kind of state the hub motor is running in, mechanical losses occupy at least 20% of the total losses of the hub motor. Mainly divided into "wind-motor loss" and "stray loss".

1、Wind friction loss
Wind friction loss is bearing friction and ventilation loss, it is corresponding to the power consumed by bearing friction and ventilation resistance, and its size is related to the roughness of the rotor surface and speed. The mechanism of its generation is simple, when the motor rotor turns up, due to the existence of air resistance, it appears, the faster it turns, the stronger it is.
2、Stray loss
Stray loss is the sum of various losses caused by the load current of the motor, in addition to the motor iron consumption, mechanical loss and copper consumption of the stator and rotor.
