The rotor and stator of the micro DC motor are mainly made of permanent magnets and silicon steel. It is prone to rot when working in a damp environment. When the motor is running, the rotor cogging heats up, and the heat turns the water in the motor into steam. Water vapor is corrosive, so silicon steel rotors corrode quickly. If the corrosion is severe, the DC motor rotor and stator can cause friction. Assuming the rust is dry, powder will form. If the rust is wet, it will produce mortar. The damage increases as the damaged oxide layer enters the DC motor. As the rotor is damaged, the rotor also becomes unbalanced, causing the DC motor to vibrate and collide with the stator as it rotates.

Generally speaking, micro DC motors have no moisture-proof design, and it is necessary to improve the sealing performance of the motor. For example, in addition to the sealing ring, the general pump body of the motor has a special waterproof protection structure to prevent it from entering the motor. In general, it is only necessary to properly seal the output end, the micro DC motor is not easy to be immersed in water, and the micro DC motor is protected by a shell in the products used, which effectively reduces the possibility of water ingress.
