What Is A Hollow Cup Motor?

The hollow cup motor is divided into two types: brushed and brushless. The brushed hollow cup motor rotor has no iron core, and the brushless vacuum cup motor stator has no iron core. The following briefly introduces the main categories of hollow cup motors.

The hollow cup DC brushed micromotor adopts mechanical movement, the magnetic pole does not move, and the coil rotates. When the motor is running, the coil and the walker rotate, but the magnetic steel and carbon brushes do not rotate. During the rotation, the carbon brushes will be rubbed and worn, and the carbon brushes must be replaced regularly. The transmission between the carbon brush and the coil is reversed, releasing electric sparks, resulting in electrical breakdown and damage to electrical equipment.

The brushless hollow cup DC motor uses electronic commutation, the coil does not move, and the magnetic pole rotates. The brushless hollow cup DC motor uses a set of electronic devices to detect the magnetic field of the permanent magnet through the Hall element, and uses the circuit to change the current flow in the coil in time to ensure that the magnet is magnetic. Generate a force in the right direction to drive the motor. Due to the automatic control function, under the regulation of the variable frequency capacitor, the heavy-load synchronous motor will not start, the rotor will start out of circle, and there will be no oscillation and phase loss when the load is abruptly changed, eliminating the shortcomings of the hollow cup DC brush micromotor.

With its high power conversion capability, the hollow cup motor can also be used as a generator; with its linear operation, it can also be used as a tachogenerator; it can also be used as a torque motor with a reducer.
